The Happiest Place on Earth...

You might think that with four kids and having lived close-by to Disney world in Florida for a number of years, that we would have overcome our fear of big crowds and long lines enough to have taken our kids to some kind of Disney resort....but you would be sadly mistaken....none of my older kids have ever been particularly motivated (and would not even stand by Santa Claus at Christmas let alone chat with "Aladin" or hug a "princess") and so the years have gone by without venturing near any place that would cost hundreds of dollars to walk around, stand in line with hundreds of other crazy families and be fleeced every time someone needed a drink.....

But the peer pressure (of the youngest child) finally swayed us and we took the plunge and spent a day at Disneyland and I have to say on lots of counts I was suitably impressed.....

Yes it cost an arm and a leg to get in....but you literally get 16 hours of non stop "fun"....the lines were manageable (especially having two teenage boys who could run around and sign everyone up for the Fast Pass options...) and you were allowed to bring in your own food and drinks (and even if you didn't , I've seen more expensive food options...)

The rides were fun and not too crazy for me (I am not a huge fan of vomit producing, whiplash providing rides...) and the Firework display was pretty impressive (although the volume of people crowding round to get a good view was a little overwhelming)....the parade was entertaining and pretty much had every character covered.....and all in all (despite the hours of walking around) everyone enjoyed the day and had seen and done everything they could a full 2 hours before the park closed......
The only problem...now the kids want to go back again!!
