LAX

The season of Lacrosse has truly begun in our house.....first up Jr High season (aka Jordan's games) and then will come High School.....and then we'll all be ready for a summer break:)

Tons of practices, fun games...Jordan is playing awesome:)

Tooth Fairy....

Amelia lost her first tooth last week......and this was kind of a big deal....so many of her friends have been losing teeth at school and she has desperately been "wiggling' for months now....until finally one was actually loose.

Of course, then she didn't want anyone to touch it for any reason. Well it happened to fall out without any help while she was at school and she was p.r.e.t.t.y. excited:)

She had her PJ's on by 6pm and her tooth was in a ziploc bag with her name all over it - so the tooth fairy wouldn't make any mistakes....

You would think that tooth fairy would be more on the ball, but as morning broke, Andrew came back into our room and said "the tooth fairy forgot. Amelia has tears in her eyes and is holding up her tooth".

After doing some recon and 'discovering' that the tooth fairy had just put a whole $5 in some obscure spot...(guilt money) all was well in the world and faith was restored.....phew:)

Seasons....

They are just all messed up in Arizona....here we are in January and the leaves are just beginning to change color and fall off the trees.....which is very pretty actually....just wierd that it's happening in January and not October:)

Jump In....

It's been cold....OK not that cold.....in fact I think the coldest it's been was the one week in October that my brother was here visiting and wanted the heat!!!! Typical:) But cold for Arizona....here's some things the kids have been up to....
Jumping into big piles of leaves.....

 Jumping into freezing cold pool water.....he jumped out just as fast:)

So I guess the lesson to learn from the kids is Jump In to this New Year with both feet....fully committed to having fun and enjoying life....that almost sounds poetic:)

New Year's Day...the Zoo!

Although Amelia is arguably our most spoilt child....being the youngest she has also really not got to do a lot of the little kid stuff that you do when all your kids are little....like go to the zoo for example....so we set of today to remedy it....not with particularly high hopes....it's a zoo after all...but it turned out to be a pretty fun day!!

 Nope Elephant didn't do much either.... 

 
The owl....amazing eyes......but he got kinda tired of us pretty quick....

 Not even the lions and tigers were up to much (despite the wounded animal sounds app that they downloaded and played from the iphone....) the kids were just waiting around for something.....

 

And then we happened upon some camels....that they could ride...:)

Yep that camel did some serious smiling for the camera.....every picture I took, he has a goofy grin!!

And then we found the monkeys.....now these guys were lots of fun:)

 All in all, the zoo was a really fun day out...and Amelia wants to know when we can go back again:)

New Years Eve

We spent New Year's Eve with our neighbors Scot and Denise...eating, playing games and a few fireworks and lots of sparklers...fun, relaxing night. It's good to have great neighbors:)

We actually celebrated a Texas New Year with the girls as by 11pm they were kinda past it....but celebrated the AZ New Year with the boys....

2012!!!!! Yikes! How come the years go by so much quicker as a grown up????
